About Wander Radio

This is a little history about Wander Radio.

It all started back in college, the first time around. My friends and would walk the campus with a large boom box and a microphone and try to pick up chicks while playing dj. The birth of wander radio. We never picked any ladies for the record but we had fun broadcasting our thoughts to any who would listen to our banter.

Fast forward 5 years, I am in the Naval Nuclear Power program. To keep my sanity I hook up a microphone to my stereo and record commercials and bumpers using my “made up” call letters. I would play these tapes for people in the back ground and they would ask me what station it was, so I told them “Wander Radio 109.9 Almost on your radio dial” I know people liked them and if they would have asked I would have given them a copy. But instead they broke into my car and stole them…

5 years ago, (yeah this story is getting long) CD burning technology comes into my house and Wander Radio is reborn. With the help of my wife and kids I make some fun cd’s to listen to at work. Problem is I am still using popular music. Then last year I get introduced to podcasting. The Dragon Page was my first audio experience and they introduced me to podiobooks. I loved the way that Mark Jeffrey, Tee Morris and Scott Sigler produced their stories for people to hear, and that gave me the idea that maybe the old audio dramas were not quite dead yet. Then I met Mark Foreman the Brooklyn Bluesman and I heard what he did on his show and I was floored. There is a way to get music onto the show and it was good music.

I took all of these interests audio dramas, music, funny commercials and parodies stuck it all in my head. And this is the result. Please enjoy it because I know I am lovin’ it.
