Pendant Audio celebrated its 5th Anniversary in August (How did I miss this last month?) 5 Years of Audio Drama goodness and they have just released the purchase their oridginal series Umket Industries Presents Dixie Stenberg and the Brassy Battalion Theater on CD the first season with all kinds of extras! Also another Audio Drama production company is celebrating an anniversary – 19 Nocturne Blvd turns 1 year old and Julie Hoverson is doing some wesome things to celebrate – Her 1st "audio movie" will be released all through the month of October – Starting on the 10th – a 4 part Horror Drama called Prom Evil will be taking place. But that is not all, Julie has also authorized a preview release of her story "The Rookie" not to be confused with that book that is floating around, on Wander Radio on Oct 31. So be on the look out for that coming down the feed. Another Wander Radio favorite is coming up with a Halloween special Broken Sea Audio Productions is will be releasing a sequel to last years Zombie Cheerleaders – Zombie Cheerleaders 2 Poms Poms of Death – Warning if you are easily offended do not listen to this show, I have it on good authority that it will offend someone. That does it for the news we’ll see you on the other side.
LAF -The band was first formed in the mid 80s by Phil Matthews and Alastair Boden as a vehicle for their self-penned songs that were recorded in a small studio in Phil’s house.
Originally named Lost and Found (well it was the era of Hue and Cry, Tears For Fears et al) the pair released a ten track album titled Ten By Two which admittedly made them sound like a DIY store rather than a band, but it provided a blueprint for what was to come.
That’s gonna do it for this episode of Wander Radio. Thanks for listening. This came across my desk as I putting this together Stuart Morrison over at Insomnia Radio UK is celebrating 3 years of podcasting the UK show. What he is doing is going back and picking his top 10 favorite songs from each year and replaying them in the show. I just wanted to mention this because 1. Stuart Morrison puts together an awesome podcast of music that comes out of the UK so I believe you will enjoy it especially if you like the music of this show.
2. This is a chance to hear some of the "Greatest Hits" from Indie bands coming out if the UK in the last 3 years all in one spot. How can you pass that up.
Congrats Stuart here’s to us not having a life.
Warning next month’s music show will not be kid friendly – I am going to say that now, because it is the Halloween episode and I have been given permission to use some slightly disturbing poetry. So be on the look out for that on the 24th and the sneak preview on the 31st. Again thanks for listening and we’ll see you on the other side.
