Way back in 2007 I went to my first fan Convention called Conestoga. It was a grand first time experience for me. Then the Con’s podcast wanted to interview me since I was also a local podcaster…(The number I think is now 3) but here you can listen to me be interviewed for my first time…I hope I don’t sound to stupid…

Chris Merle ran the Conestoga Podcast and we talked about a quite a few topics. This episode is posted on Chris’s other Show Escape from Cubicle 17. Please enjoy it.

Yesterday I found out that my Daughter signed up for the Walk to Cure Diabetes. Here is what she had to say.

“Hi my name is Megan and I’d like to borrow some of your time to tell you about the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF’s only mission is finding a cure for type I diabetes and they are the only foundation soley focused on finding a cure. Please remember that insulin is not a cure it is just a life support. After more than 37 years JDRF can proudly say that not only is a cure possible , butt it is very likely in out lifetimes. I’m walking for JDRF on September 27th . Please help me help JDRF find a cure.”

Here is a link to her donation page at JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Please donate what you can, and spread the word.

Feel free to take this piece of audio and place it in your show.

Several podiobooks to listen to out there in the podoshere so many stories get buried by marketing of book runs by Mur Lafferty, Matthew Wayne Sleznick, Tee Morris and Philippa Ballantine. Although they have worked extremely hard to get where they so richly deserve some “genre” stories do get lost in shuffle of things. One of these lost treasures has finally been brought to my attention, Sam Chupp has created a wonderful swords and sorcery tale. Now I have only listened to the first couple of chapters of Heart of the Hunter, but it has really  drawn me in rather quickly with the characters, the descriptions. This story although not yet complete it is definitely well worth a listen. Since I am still waiting for the sequels of Daughter of the Sun and Nina Kimberly the Merciless this story will fit nicely in my fantasy podiobook collection. Thanks Sam the story is fun and the telling of it is very relaxing.  Oh yeah – It is also family friendly – please enjoy.

I started listening to Heart of the Hunter thanks to Jack Jaffee (I interviewed him a couple of months ago) Looks like I have another interview to go get…

EDIT: I have been corrected by Sam in that this is not a family friendly story. There are a couple of scenes that you may not want your kids to listen to.

EDIT 2: The book is now complete. YEAH! Sam.

Insomnia Radio United Kingdom First the good news, one of my favorite podcasts snuck up on me and made it to 50 shows!! Insomnia Radio UK, part of the Insomnia Radio family, has put out his 50th show with out any of the fanfare. Stuart Morrison has taken that show and made it his own and often times including songs from the rest of Europe. Although I am not sure if he is including those shows in his counting. The music that Stuart finds definitely has a distinctive sound that adds to distictive independant sound of Insomnia Radio. It is great to have you here in the podosphere.

Congrats! Stuart here is to 50 more.

For some bad news. I am playing, tweaking the website trying to get a working jukebox up and running. It will only contain the songs that I have played on the show and will only be streamable.  Hopefully I won’t screw this up to badly…
